Resume reviews & mock interviews for students and new grads

Your resume gets six seconds. Let's make them count.

One-on-one sessions with a fourth-year CS student who has landed three internships, including a Big 5 bank. We go through your resume line by line, fix what's costing you interviews, and practice the answers that get offers.

How a session works

You leave with changes, not just advice

Send your resume

Upload your resume and add the jobs you're applying to when you book, so I can review both before we meet.

Go through it together

We go bullet by bullet: what's working, what to change and how, and how to tailor it to the jobs you want.

Walk away with a plan

You get the edited bullets, your top fixes, and the next roles to apply for this term.

The six-second checklist

What I check first on every resume

These are the patterns that keep showing up in the resumes I review, and the ones recruiters notice fastest.

A number on every bullet

Cut resolution time by 20% beats Responsible for testing every time.

One clear identity

A recruiter should know in one glance what role you're going for, whether that's software, data, finance, marketing or product.

One page, no orphan words

A bullet that wraps for one word wastes a whole line you could use for impact.

Skills you can defend

If a tool isn't in any bullet, expect an interviewer to ask about it anyway.

Keywords from the posting

Three to five terms from the job description, used in real context, not stuffed.

Leadership that shows scale

Clubs, case competitions, hackathons and events count, as long as you say how big and what changed.

About

I'm a student too. I just figured some of this out first.

I'm Wasay, a fourth-year Computer Science student at Ontario Tech. I've been rejected plenty, and I've also landed three internships, founded a 304-person hackathon and run the speaker program for Canada's largest student software engineering conference.

I started reviewing resumes for free because friends kept asking. Now it's my favourite part of the week. I tell you what I'd want someone to tell me: what's working, what isn't, and exactly how to fix it.

No fluff. Just what actually gets interviews.

What people said after their session

"Wasay's insights were very structured and demonstrated his experiences well. You can tell he's someone who has really gone through the hardship of the job search journey himself. It was a pleasure to chat and hear from him."

Computer Science student, Western University

"Before talking to Wasay, I'd freeze up and ramble in interviews. He broke down the whole process, taught me the STAR technique, and gave me honest feedback. I walked into my co-op interviews feeling confident and in control."

Questions

Before you book

Who are sessions for?

Students and recent grads applying for co-ops, internships or full-time roles, in any major: tech, business, engineering, science and more. First-years with no experience are welcome; we'll work with projects, clubs and part-time jobs.

What should I bring?

Nothing extra. You upload your resume and add the jobs you're applying to when you book. For mock interviews, add the company and role you're interviewing for.

Can you get me a referral or guarantee an offer?

No. Sessions cover resume and interview coaching only. I don't sell referrals or promise outcomes, and nobody honest can.

How do I pay?

By card, right on this page when you book. Payments are processed securely by Stripe, so I never see your card details.

What if I need to reschedule?

Email me at least 24 hours before your session to reschedule, or for a full refund.
